Status for: Surface Reflectance (MOD09)

 
General Accuracy Statement

Stage 3 validation has been achieved for the MODIS Collection 6 surface reflectance product.

The accuracy of the Collection 6 surface reflectance product in all bands is at or better than 0.005+0.05SR (the magenta line in the figures below), where SR is the surface reflectance. The accuracy of the derived Vegetation Indices (NDVI and EVI) is 0.02+0.02VI. This statement applies only to clear observation conditions (no cloud, cloud shadow, or high aerosol in a pixel). The observation conditions can be determined by inspecting the pixel quality flags. This accuracy performance was determined using AERONET sites during the 2000 to 2017 period for Terra and 2002 to 2017 for Aqua. See the Terra and Aqua Accuracy, Precision and Uncertainty (APU) figures below.
