Status for: LAI/FPAR (MOD15)

 
General Accuracy Statement

Validation at stage 2 has been achieved for the MODIS LAI product.

The MODIS LAI product has been used in many validation field studies and in LAI product intercomparison work. Accuracy is 0.66 LAI units RMSE when all biomes are taken in account. If broadleaf forests are excluded, the accuracy in all the other biomes is 0.5 LAI units RMSE. The sites used in these studies are representative of major global vegetation types and cover many different time periods. The LAI product is thus considered to be validated to stage 2.

Validation at stage 1 has been achieved for the FPAR product. The accuracy is 0.12 FPAR units RMSE.
